Cylon went to Delphi to consult the god and ‘he was to seize the Acroplis of Athens during the festival of Zeus’ With troops he seized the Acropolis his intention being to make himself dicator and the Olympic festival was also the festival of Zeus. Since he had won a victory at the Olympic gamesSuffice to say it failed and a siege brought Cylon and troops to his knees.
