ahoy yee matees wheres mee gold ?
In this we discover theres yet another ‘shortfall‘ (bbc) in cd sales again
Jim Batchelor. (he be a jobbing pirate by trade) said Consumers failed to make up the shortfall online.
hmm i wonder why perhaps .. and then he added
“The release schedule in the first half of this year was very slow with few big acts delivering albums. “
- he’s an Genius that Jim Batchelor (no walking the planking for for you tonight) I can add that:
- the cost of money is going up
- cd’s are being given away by newspapers (think Prince)
- None of the artists i like (my blog) seem to be releasing stuff via record companies.
- I’d prefer to go a see an artist* rather buy there cd
- Koopa failed to get a record deal, but made the charts without a record company.
So what do we learn that they teach at pirates school Robbie Williams 4VER seems to be the lesson.
* that if is near by, and as they make more money than from cd’s then screw the cd.
Morally, music is public domain. No one person or organisation should own it. And so I’m pleased at the way things are going; if only to see The Man squealing at his loss of profits. Following the trend, I’m thinking of dusting off my Yamaha PSR Midi electronic keyboard, and along with the accompaniment of spoons and my own vocals, making music in my back bedroom. Dum dee de dum dum, dum dee dee dum.
