Scotland – your not supposed to use it

discussion of issuesIn this (bbc) Bananas in the Falklands and the other zoo residents would like to welcome John Mason, the new SNP member of parliament which is part of this debate (my blog).

Scotland for the Scottish – nothing wrong with that, but isn’t it funny if you mutter ‘england for the english’ that is racist to everybody. With a scottish prime minister perhaps it might be time to return the scottish to scotland after all your not supposed to use devolution like this in the labour heartlands. After the botched and complex election voting that first brought the nationalist party into the ‘controlling regional powerhouse’ recently, another result means – who needs a labour party ? certainly not the Scottish.

I quite understand why people voted this way and wish them the best after all with things better and more benefits there mean the appeal of being ‘english’ is a fools paradise.

Mr Mason is most welcome to visit our london zoo monkey house where we can drink tea and discuss the finer points of the issue.

Angel and the new curse of the dvd* extra on tv

Angel was a spin off series and unfortunately got ripped to shreds to the television censors. I will not argue that Angel was flawed and was rather heavy on the rather repetitive (rinse and repeat) fight scenes on dvd but the question is is tv or any msm outlet really up to the task?

I never saw it on television for the simple reason of that they kept moving about the schedules and the toothbrush smile tv censorship. I know Angel is ‘fantasy’, but if tv ruins its stuff or worse of all gets the producers to ‘tone it down’ then quite what is the point of showing it. My conclusion is the tv networks do more damage than good.

Television is a media that like to think it is ‘mould breaking‘ (my blog) and so the dvd accompaniment to the tv series seems now to be a thing tv likes to do where nothing much is ever said** (even on the dvd versions)

Angel had it moments as in smile time – but being a spinoff gave it a few problems, and if say the dvd is only true way to see something then why some tv networks should be trying to ape the dvd format is odd.

The trouble with all transfers to a different format laden it with censorship, and screen resolution problems, a black and white film is black and white even on dvd. The star wars franchise and blade runner versions have completely confused everyone.

Angel is quite entertaining (five seasons) but i would not rave about it. I will save a rant about the copyright notices on the dvd for a later time.
