is isbn 0712695036 and it was recommended belatedly by one of those s/f sites in leui of seeing some crap called Terminator rehash 4 which before the release they where pimping like nobodies business. So i read the book instead after all i am Bananas in the Falklands.
The book is slightly different to the film (imdb: tt0118884) and has more characters in it rather than just one star who boldly goes whee no man has gone before.
The writing of 1980 is still fresh today thirty years later, and manages not to bore even with scientific and mathematical stuff thrown in it – that is the sign of an impressive writer in fiction.
I felt that the ending (while better than the film) missed something and compromised itself but not as badly as the film did. Anyhow it is worthy read 5/5 bananas.
