isbn: 0704347008 hails from 1915 and is an interesting read of early speculative fiction.   Some of it is believable (try this [my blog]) and is based in Darwinian science (think along blackspot angelfish abilities) rather than speculation of science that turns electricity and skin into monsters in say wells moreau or dr frankenstien .

It has an interesting slant on things and is readable today something that hg wells and many fail at with the passage of time.  Well worth a finding
