Under a month ago in November the bbc news site was pimping some scheme to make websites more disabled friendly Since i have read pas 78 (my blog) i chimed in a small comment about the contents of pas78 and its improbability / reality issues detailed in the link.
I got back a ‘can we chat more’ comment. This rang alarm bells in brain as it appears that this noble idea is run by idiots whom only then heard of pas 78*.
I decided to pass on that. The ‘d’ afflection means many things to many different groups with many agendas, and the ‘d’ tools are not given away for ‘normal’ developers’ to try. I could go on about the missing css standard plans too but the post above gives it a mention.
Not much has happened since in wrote the link. But thats not my fault. Pas 78 is written in such a way that no website will ever be deemed accessible to all, even those pimping pr releases.
* The bad news is that the expert latter admitted there total ignorance of the issues and pas 78 – i found an expert yippee!
The lesson the bbc can learn from this should be to stop hating the internet/web something computers, and hire somebody who can spot pr bullshiters which is what i did in two seconds. No i dont want a job with those computer hating idiots.
