imdb tt0075995 is something else and a film i miss not in rotation so i rented it, because the zoo has a crap dvd thing i had to rip the film (my blog) to see it.
Having done that (yeah dvds work) I sit down and watch this film. 5/5 bananas.

So i rent a dvd from my local library, its an old film Equus, that is was a play that in 1977 they filmed, it used to be on television until some scum-bag animal rights loon banned it.
So with silver disk i carefully insert into dvd player, i get sound and menu for the film in Catalan etc – i press ok and grind grind grind…. i get bored and also need to pee, so a few minutes pass and still no Richard Burton when i get back.
So i troubleshoot – same stuff happens each time. Looks like its time to watch it on a computer. So fuck you mpaa if you crap wont play in standard dvd player.

I continue to like perl, and i wanted some rrdtool images in a page. Yes there’s better stuff out there in newer languages now but not wishing to reinvent the wheel. Since i want rrdtool images i discover its best to ignore jquery and just use plain html with cgi which works a treat and if i be honest what i wanted without fafing about with jquery.

Our Tragic Universe, Scarlett Thomas
isbn: 97818471295 is by an author I like (my blog). A ‘guess’ rather than a newspaper review pointed me in to getting this book which just proves how shit some newspapers are with book reviews unless its about danish cows.
Anyhow since i read a newspaper that deems farm animal stories better than the dreaded ‘G’ word or has ‘popular’ author’s my guess was right. The First 150 pages is a bit of a slog set in new agey Devon weirdness (also used in popco as a location) and that starts things going in an english literature way which bores the living shit out of me.
Anyhow once introduced to the sightly mentally disturbed characters in Devon the author gets motoring by moving house and then the book finally becomes readable by discarding a lot of the junk.
If you like descriptive dog walking then read this, however the new agey /english lit thing did absolutey nothing for me probably since i have not read the book that ‘inspired’ this book

How to live safely in a science fictional universe, Charle Yu
isbn: 9781848876804 despite a iffy hundred page start actually works quite well without confusing which can be a problem with time based stories. In a succinct manner Mr Yu only goes round the block once and resolves the issue without having to reboot the idea which happened to this author and also that the crap show about alternate dimensions which featured a black president (my blog).
