Bananas likes japanese animation, its not all award winning stuff, some of it will offend someone, but it can also be charming and raise the art of animation to heights the west and werthams both of past and present will never get since they perceive cartoons as child things although bit of target for those who find bad in all – even those blue things and tintin are ‘racist’ making animation a bit of a football.
Anyhow since you know know i watch the stuff The girl who leapt through time (imdb: tt0808506 ) was on a list of recommended films that i had not seen and i could obtain quite easily.
I tried the film with english, and that felt totally wrong, so i went to the japanese with english subtitles, that felt right. It is a provoking film despite the stereotypes.
