Bbc ‘logic’

In true retard mode the bbc moved torchwood and put it on it’s main channel, and then killed most of the cast in five hours.  Thus marked the end of it.  Then the showrunner left and the american’s decided to pick up which proves that the bbc hate scifi themes.

With the behind the scenes issues at Cardiff and the threat of no dvd sales for Dr Who in time for Christmas future it proves that the artistic dislike overrides the commercial money maker it is for the bbc,  with management of the calibre of Piers Wenger and Beth Willis why should i care, after all they don’t.

Some of the bbc’s pr on this issue is comic, as it appears to them that the show runner [Moffat] does every possible job on set excluding cooking, and taxi services.  Clearly reducing the production team (beth willis attributed) means a longer production time since there’s only a set amount of hours in a day with a limited resource to utilise it.

Anyhow Torchwood has had some interesting ideas and it was one of the few things i would watch so it must have something going for it.  Not surprisingly the bbc don’t get to do dvd sales either, which clearly isn’t bothering the bbc with a co-production.

July saw the return of Torchwood with a mostly new US based cast in a thing called miracle day which sounds a bit religious and dumbed down.  Anyhow its nice to know that while the bbc might find Genre stuff beneath them as it has a lack of bonnets and colourful ribbons which the americans have no problems with it. The US got sex, that apparently was not ok for bbc but i guess it might have been ‘seen’ on bbc three, or two.

The same cannot be said of the bbc who decided to show it six days afterwards from the us airdate.  But since its on bbc one its success cannot be guaranteed, thanks to Miss Willis and Mr Wenger who seem to be of the view that bbc is not good at making genre  tv shows with a established reputation, and so the americans have to help, an us made dr who?.  Who knows it might happen after all not many ribbons and bonnets in dr who if bbc management dont care for it and they dont like dvd sales and big ratings.

Torchwood in its rebooted us format has some weaknesses, the two american stars Mehki Phifer, and Alexa Havins dont have much range, and the old cast nail the scenes where Mr Phifer tries to rap his way through a mormon biased cia, no wonder i am not the only one wishing he was dead.

Another problem with the delay and the start of the football season is that here in the monkey house tw:md becomes hard to watch since the alpha and betas like there football so at some point i lost interest in torchwood, it then becomes a download of some sort should i bother to ‘catch up’.

It will be interesting if Starz pickup on torchwood, after all the bbc are not really that important in the things that matter.

An un-even 3/5 bananas for torchwood which dealt some interesting themes in an uneven way and too much idiot filler.

As to dr who , im sure by the time i release this enough alarm bells will be going off in the bbc that something is amiss, and changes brought in, ribbons and bonnet could be cool right ?

by golly but...
