isbn: 9780575070042 was picked up for reading and as my way the books i read come through in a odd manner i cant remember why. Anyhow i have read the author before (my blog), my experience varies, although the author flipped over a prize list recently.
The Islanders reads as part travel guide / set in a fictional place it has a shaky start but is well done. Bits fit together despite a 1960′s artists are great sentiment (my blog). Part nation states narrative means it is a unique piece of writing.
Perhaps a little long but a sense of place and who lives there is well intentioned.
