I came and conquered, and then left it

2001: I came and conquered, and then left it

Afghanistan is place i don’t blog much about, but occasionally i have (my blog).  George W Bush ‘won’ it in 2001 then installed an oil pipe line, and decided to invade Iraq since it had oil. – You know the rest.

The year now is 2009, while his daddy’s pipeline is secure what about the rest of Afghanistan ?

warhome

2009: Afghanistan

You know the rest and the ‘high’ cost now being seen on some streets and families as the dead return. It’s the media reporting that worries me here.

Bush lied we all know that, but i don’t ‘get’ why when soldiers die say one a day for a week is the media response it gets.  Being soldier means foreign travel and the chance that they might die after all  we do supply them with weapons.

While sad for there families , why is it now that eight years on that Afghanistan is now back  in the spotlight? A cynic might say this will be the issue that will remove Gordon Brown from office in the next uk election.

Whatever the reason for the interest at least Daddys pipeline is safe – ‘Mission Accomplished’.

Why tv news is bad argument 2

Filed under: George W. Bush, iraq, media rants — Tags: — bananasfk @ 00:05

Read this now did you hear about it on tv ? It has overtones of this book.

A quote.

The New York Times‘ David Barstow won a richly deserved Pulitzer Prize yesterday for two articles that, despite being featured as major news stories on the front page of The Paper of Record, were completely suppressed by virtually every network and cable news show, which to this day have never informed their viewers about what Barstow uncovered.  Here is how the Pulitzer Committee described Barstow’s exposés:

Awarded to David Barstow of The New York Times for his tenacious reporting that revealed how some retired generals, working as radio and television analysts, had been co-opted by the Pentagon to make its case for the war in Iraq, and how many of them also had undisclosed ties to companies that benefited from policies they defended.

By whom were these “ties to companies” undisclosed and for whom did these deeply conflicted retired generals pose as ”analysts”?  ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and Fox — the very companies that have simply suppressed the story from their viewers.  They kept completely silent about Barstow’s story even though it

I covered the pulitzer in Battlestar Galactica. Oh reason 1 why tv news sucks.

Admissions from a torturer

Dayana Mendoza visited the centre and wrote about it on the Miss Universe blog on 27 March. Her remarks that she didnt want to leave the calm and beautiful place attracted some scathing reactions.

Dayana Mendoza visited Gimto and wrote about it on the Miss Universe blog (bbc report) on 27 March. Her remarks that she "didn't want to leave" the "calm and beautiful" place*.

In this link (washington post) we know understand that the torturers know now that torturing people does not work. Fortunately this also vindicates Craig Murray as in the right.

Dayana Mendoza is also an excuse to show an idiot and a pretty picture.

In this (craig murray) from a uk document

“One example is the question of the use of intelligence provided to the UK by other countries. The provenance of such intelligence is often unclear – partners rarely share details of their sources. All intelligence received, whatever its source, is carefully evaluated, particularly where it is clear that it has been obtained from individuals in detention. The use of intelligence possibly derived through torture presents a very real dilemma, given our unreserved condemnation of torture and our efforts to eradicate it. Where there is intelligence that bears on threats to life, we cannot reject it out of hand. What is quite clear, however, is that information obtained as a result of torture would not be admissible as evidence in any criminal or civil proceedings in the UK. It does not matter whether the evidence was obtained here or abroad.”

Got that, expect more fud threat levels, so lock up your goldfish in your bunker,, related post here (my blog)

The muppets will keep your goldfish safe, unlike Dayana Mendoza.*

Going legacy shopping with Tony and George.

team fuck up

team america world police fuck up

‘Good heavens’ shrieked the Professor near the monkey house where the fuck did everybody go. We all waved at the professor to prove our dedication and offered him a banana which he accepted and Ceasar who is the alpha male explained that because of raging free market dogma and lax administration by Tony Blair and George W Bush that most people are not really big into zoo visiting recently. Even Human divorces are down, that’s less single parents on Sunday chimed in Sally (our monkey of the brain sciences, and human iphone addiction specialist).

With the professor chilled* he asked me why we had not been blogging much about Blair and Bush. After all even the most retarded cockroach thinks Bush was a bit of a fuckup now.

So i explained that ‘i can save the middle east‘ Tony Blair and Nclear Bush are rather tired characters, after all having read Chomsky means these guys are pretty deluded. I said

Bush – When you have to invade the same country again in ten years, and Blair – well we all know if he was pet dog he’d be poodle and lets fact prof poodles are pretty boring to blog about.

generation kill, hbo

generation kill, hbo

Professor agreed with me. – I added.

What’s most amusing is that in the case of Bush people are beginning to wake up to what this idiot was about – anybody with half a brain knew that Bush was spying on the american population and the rest. BUT WHEN THE MEDIA FINALLY FIGURE IT OUT, it makes the news again

Shopping get lost

Shopping get lost

Professor nodded and said humans are bit dumb so your not going legacy shopping with those two [blair and bush] them ? I said no way. But who knows somebody in Camden market might have a t-shirt that says something amusing about the pair**.

Professor said it was nice to see us all but he better get back, we said come round any time.

Anyhow that’s the problem everybody knows that Bush and Blair have not been good for humanity, but only now are the Rupert Murdoch Journalists getting it, Humans we all sighed.

The more slightly astute readers among you will notice i mention Generation Kill which is an american tv drama written by the the pair that did the wire, the corner, and homicide life on the street (a review of the book).

We never grokked the wire, its on dvd so if we become unlazy it should be easy to get. The Corner also overs that area well and just because most of humans never bothered to watch Homicide means your playing catchup, most of you humans probably don’t what a corner is.

So onto gen kill which is bit like ‘over there’ (my blog) and if your getting the feeling its a bit of a rehash bit like most lets invade Iraq twice because we didnt have enough fun the last time around

Generation Kill follows a team of marines through Iraq on invasion version 2, Its a minimal affair but since we know a bit about Iraqs fuckups under Paul Bremer (a book) this is very much rehash territory

It has merit – but WE KNOW, remember Jarhead (my blog)

3/5 Bananas

Humans…. wake up….

The Americans and the French have a suffering revolution which means the likes of Luther* and Cromwell don’t get a look in as libertarians.

So we are left with the french revolution and terrorist* george washington at the the helm of being ‘for the people’**, that is an over simplification but it stands that they are good/better and the rest are not as important.

In my recent book posting (my blog) i noted that the French and Americans where slow to ban slavery, and if you read this (my blog) then you wonder if the wrong side won – oh to be a Bush loving republican owning slaver today.

Imdb tt0097441 also starring Andre Braugher is one of the few war films i like. I suggest a view at your leisure.

Republican bashing is too much fun….

I have been much remiss on Rupert Murdoch’s ‘fair and balanced’ news concept. So here’s one for Bush lovers.

Obama Pictures and McCain Pictures

I have also been a bit slow to pick up on Tina Fey and Palin – can you spot the difference ?

Republicans on the whole seem to have gone plain and simple mad it appears from the monkey house.

Whether that is through chasing god voters that any logic was lost is a problem that they face not I.  But the earth is round and not flat i am reliably told, while its nice to think its flat it can provide some credibility problems.

Scary…  As to Palin well aside the lumberjack song where the hell do they find people like her ? completely under the the radar and the only experience of running a town.

Whatever happens – dictatorship, barbie and sarah, or the Obama thing let us hope that it is better than what Bush did.

scary republican voters story

Filed under: Deranged Minds, George W. Bush, Mind Control, Politics, fud, stupid, stupidity, usa — Tags: , , — bananasfk @ 09:30

The monkey house suggests this Daily Kos link i shall also quote from it. The tale begins like this our coffee drinking human* reports….

.. women in dresses wearing pink buttons proclaiming “Women for McCain/Palin”. A few of them brought their husbands who were sporting buttons saying things such as “Sportsman for McCain/Palin” and “NOBama”.

step 1: logo’ed zombies

As soon as the last member of their group came in, they prayed. In their prayer they begged that God “deliver the country from the evil socialists” and even prayed that “Obama find God”.

step 2: praying zombies

One of the women proclaimed that her whole Bible study group was going to vote early. One of the men piped up and said he was going to ask people to vote early after church one Sunday. The next person lamented that their whole office was voting for Obama. The McCain/Palin supporters called that person’s co-workers “sinners” and said that they “needed Jesus”.

step 3: burn them witches voters, worked in Salem didn’t it.

They talked a little more about how Obama would destroy our country with “free health care” and “gay marriages”. The feared his daughters would probably play loud rap music in the White House while world leaders were staying. They feared that Muslim would become our official religion. One of them even feared that “the Muslim language would be taught in schools.”

step 4: oh rofl – rap music is devil music, burn those daughters NOW [they also might be lesbian] and get married to each other in the white house – NOOOOOOO, they could also be witches as well….

.. “Obama is part of a sleeper cell and he will use our own nuclear weapons against us.”

step 6: aha free xrays for american’s !

but on the way out the door one of the republican men told [the human author] “you are a disgrace to white people if you vote for that [other] man.”

Step 7: Hitler (if he was alive today) would vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

So what have we learned ? Well keep out of Florida and America.

Gramm with the republican president candidate.

Gramm with the republican president candidate.

In this (my blog) I lay down much of the ground work into what happened with some dud banks going bankrupt recently. I also read that Phil Gramm who is McCain’s republican economic adviser ‘helped’

Gramm slipped in a 262-page measure called the Commodity Futures Modernization Act

Which

“protect financial institutions from overregulation”

And that circles the square.
