Defying Gravity is one of those tv shows set in space but is not s/f just so they don’t go and scare the average viewers away as tampons do need selling.

To watch dg means you can jump in to it at any time (flashbacks), there is a thing in storage pod 4, it came from mars, so they put it on spaceship where the pod 4 thing chooses the crew – rather than the people in charge, meanwhile some inane soap opera deals with the aftermath of puking astronauts, and the irony of doing sex experiments on plants/animals but not with humans.  Think it was written by catholics ?

bluetooth sucks.

802.15 should be a joy, not just for windows users, or mac users but all users after all its a standard like ethernet, alas this standard has been gang raped by Microsoft.

Bluetooth for cavedwellers makes short range radio communication between say a phone and a headset/computer and mouse etc. Easy ! no wires in theory

Alas some fuck head at bluetooth.org decided that linux compatibly and bluetooth was bad, no doubt theres some pressure from the microsoft to do this so i am very late to this.

It took me about two days of googling for something that might work with linux in the form of a usb adaptor. Thats encouraging isnt it?  Lets face it they don’t want people like me using it.

Lets face facts, LInux supports bluetooth, but the people who certify it, dont like to advertise that it does work with Linux.

Seeing as i have become an expert on this crap by accident, i note that windows users also have problems with bluetooth being a number of software libraries and the like, plug and pray time anybody.

Clearly buetooth is not a standard deserving to computer support and it should go back to its ghetto of mobile phone users.  I hope that a better short range radio standard is invented and will make bluetooth devices obselete.

I did get bluetooth to work,but i have no intention of embracing this microsift crapware

Its a shame that inteligent people at Bluetooth have fucked it up.

Indeed i could have bought many adaptors to try but thats not the point why should buying something so basic require so much research. if i had windows then the problem of the right software come to play – not easy for anybody

Digital Britain, failed execuitves (Lord Carter) and monopolies and the rest.

This blog post was originally titled “The problems with pay tv in england” which got my attention as Dan Marks had resigned as CEO of Hybrid IPTV Service, BT Vision, which is part of British Telecom (also known in this blog as British India).

Mr Marks Resigned because he got fed up with the UK only having two big pay tv providers and other issues, while his crap system struggled along on the very lame BT plc consumer broadband network which he was demanding that the bbc (the big broadcaster) pay it to provide the content BT plc’s customers request.

So much for network neutrality.

Ironically BT plc then decided to help kill a pay to provider of sports matches by not selling its product – idiotic does not even begin to describe it

It gets worse as his iptv service apparently sucks the life out of the internet connection and so makes the internet pretty unusable according to many reports i read. During the  ‘popular’ hours of 1600 to 2400 every day even you tube grinds to halt on the bt retail network.

All of this probably has to do with the television rights to sports, where it appears all lame brained men go retarded over a same sex team of homosexuals who play with a ball on some grass.   I’ve blogged about the idiots who pay to get tv with adverts as well so you know my position on them – foolish.

Not all of BT is run by subnormal retards, but most of it appaers to be and i cannot for the life me want to stream tv (a read only media) via the internet, its no game where i can participate in.

Many of those subnormal retards bt plc employs mean that they have low aspirations to what the network should do, unlike say in Korea or Japan where networks are fast. If you happen to live in a place where these subnormal’s don’t think it is wise to invest in upgrading its network means no broadband at all for some parts the country.

So if you happen to be the monopoly provider and refuse to install things your customers want – how do you ‘encourage’ mass adoption and how fast should it be ?

Another failed idiot this time from NTL (now renamed Virgin) called Lord Carter was asked to make ‘digital Britain’ a reality. His response ?

• a £6* government tax per year on each phone line to ‘help’ British Telecom install stuff
• cap traffic to 2mb
• etc

So what’s wrong with that ? well if like us you don’t use British Telecom, or a large supplier that gets a tax benefit then i have to pay to upgrade our isps network kit, is 2mb really fast it sounds as if this idiot has been talking to all the wrong people.

Oddly BT is a company which seems to be looking backwards television (plenty of competitors), no investment unless it is in profitable areas and overselling its capacity. It is also want for consumers to pay twice with advertisers geting to adverts on there requested webpages and that affects everybody.

So see any problems ? nah i can’t either.  British Telecom should not be allowed to even run pub let alone run a network or even provide phone lines as there not up to he job.

Bananas in the Falklands likes most of the work of an author called John Scalzi, (search the blog), and so it was decided to take a look at a non fiction book called ‘The rough guide to the universe’ or isbn: 1858289394.

The book published in 2003 suffers from a few faults like i don’t live in iowa for location, and the time tables are either way in the future, or in the past, but it explains to an humble chicken sexer like me the dynamics of star gazing. Science books have a duty to be heavy going an this book fails to do this and keeps it understandable.

Its sad though that the ancients (pre christianity) saw most of this stuff and documented it only for the flat earth catholics to assume the earth is the centre of everything and kill those with what we now know to be true.

The danger for microsoft shareholders is that will ie 5.5 be here for the long term – no i dont think so and that also means that the medical profession needs no new ms operating system updates soon.

The machine is made by ge a huge concern, the software uses a bad microsoft standard.

Beware of microsoft for images like this will soon be unreable ‘relic’s that make hospitals expensive and help to not preserve important data.  When talking of electronic records – the bad standards (probably windows me was the best ms os at the time for ge) mean that microsoft will not be getting to upgrade those licenses to medical places whatever they currently sell.

Why is this important data even now quite hard to read  – should you blame ge no, but microsoft for being untrustworthy when even thinking about holding important data.  Since Microsoft have no interest in legacy i suggest that storing medical records of any kind in microsoft system as being a very bad idea.

The English Post office is run as an government enterprise, its management and labour have many problems alike, attempts to modernise have been made messy and when you humans complain of being charged extra to deliver a large* birthday card. Then the shit soon hits the fan.

The website for royalmail.com is interesting since you still have to type in the www. thing. Posting is based a on size/weight and depth so its best to have a set of scales and a ruler just in case some deranged postal employee decides to be a shit as in the birthday card example i name above.

So you start to wonder about the sanity of posting anything other than an average sized piece of paper*.

Many big businesses now don’t use the post office, home delivery (even to the monkey house) is vague – get the felling that post is not important ? Even the delivery firms find that the post office drives clients to them.

A search through this blog will tell you that even Bananas thinks that the post office retail That’s the post office is run by crooks. So now even the labour party (thats Gordon Brown and ilk) think its time that the organisation needs to put out to pasture via a privatisation.

Post still has a use so this means selling it and part selling it to a foriegn operation means that this organisation has lost the power of the bulshit. Privatisation is a  sacred cow no no to the Labour party. Labour renationalised the railways after some problems and for them to suggest that the Post Office is crap means even they see that when using the post office network as a bribe to labour mp’s in parliament there’s a bigger problem.

Post is expensive – and to prove that point a lot of us now use email, hell a phone call is cheaper unless your ring a sex chat line than posting something.

Before we all cheer that the idiots with the size/cubic/wieght are all going to lose there jobs we should be carefull since those idiots cannot even run a pension scheme so your taxes will have to go up.

Quite how the post office became so inefficient and who you blame – management or workers means a fun debate for all – but its not working.

Was a rather stupid policeman, unlike your average english policeman he was a university graduate probably never spent a day in his policing anything except a desk.
