Having been around the block and moved from tv to cinema this time with Abrams at the helm for a second go i pondered where the originality went.Its another remake and with his other trek film being the dreaded starflreet academy* i have to wonder does he have free will.

Fortunately i did not have to endure it in 3d (totally unnecessary) but it is another minus mark against the great and powerful Abrams who appears spineless.

A universe is a large thing, so surely there’s no lack of orginaltity to be found, well the spineless fool at the helm sets the thing on earth.  See space ships are boring.  Then he is back to rehashing the 5 year mission.

I will grant one compliment and that is the set design does not does not look too bad, but then again if somebody from 2067 saw st:tng they too might consider it dated.  That’s a compliment with a criticism.

The less i mention the lens flare the better, and while the existing tv trek has merit cant anybody risk them doing anything new ? No seems to be the reply.

Mr Silver gets hate from News International* as he predicted that the wrong presidential candidate won twice.after much propaganda for the other candidate.

His book explores the method to the rationality whom Murdoch hates and after delivering predictions that work and make a lot predictors like Nielsen look a bit stupid. A look at the banking crises (my blog)starts of the book and visits weather prediction, the flu, and baseball.

America hates business

His even handedness of playing poker (my blog) shows the pros and cons of the game, if theres only one chapter of the book you could ever read i’d suggest that one.

It is a coherent book although it does make a concession too far (my blog) with Donald Rumsfield on 9/11 and predictions.

Gruntals diameter is too big, and the old name of gruntal’s transformer breaks after two minutes of use if wired to more than unit.  The fittings also have changed from a rectangle connector to round so its incompatible.

Troubleshooting gruntal (now a kitchen shelf and not a light in ikea land) finds that the mains point is good but gruntal as an electrical fittting and transformer are crap even with new bulbs [easily obtainable].  It perhaps explains why lightning  and electrics is not a ikea strong point.

Clearly furniture and electrics dont mix with Ikea.

The anime has a painfully slow start but has a look [rotoscope] that i like and does not appear to be of the same usual construction* anime viewers get used to.  It has a dust creature thing like the user friendly comic. Its rather good

The book saw a printing in 1857, my read version dates from 1955 and many translations and i see why this frenchman might be read in Japan as it is direct in its meanings rather than indirect.  I actually liked his poetry although a feel that in translation somebody sythye from 1984  has tried to give it a more biblical meaning that the author would not approve of but required by publishers and the then moral code with older translations.  Extract

Examples – Abe books [whom sell books] made our credit card a debit card most recently with foreign exchange costs, our ink supplier who was also a debt merchant soon went credit with no fees – its unpredictable .  That’s where i get a 23% figure from a year. Since i am unknowing did not know that the credit card turned into a debit card i am wonder if anybody else notices it.

I check the config commands and they are also the same.   Its a silly thing, so one evening the thought resolv.cfg pings into my monkey head. and that’s it when next day i update it and discover that network manager changed it knocking out nameserver 127.0.0.1, after some copying of the file to the right place – postfix demands a copy in a non /etc directory and things start looking up in postfix land.

Argh well at least postfix was not to blame and network manager was and networking has not changed either.  Oddly dkms signing with private keys and a public key in dns kept working so although that’s not part of native postfix dns stuff was working in a manner.

Ms Page (my blog) was good as ever , the sound is sensational.

The film is supposed to have many meanings according to many people , however the first hour is most impressive before it resorts to tricks discussed in the first hour.  The levels within levels is key according to us monkeys.

This is a book about the the more sleazy american members of staff of the un** (my blog).  a us corporation called dyncorp (see dyn-intl.com), and one too bright* us policewomen who had a connection to Croatia so things are just going to end badly and require a barrister or two and some sleaze pointed at the un and dynacorp..

Ms Bolkovac appears to have been honest and when serving in Nebraska got her fair share of interesting events that a country with guns can provide as either news or something that is not reported, and a change of scenery from battle scared Nebraska to Croatia then post civil war after the breakup of Yugoslavia into bonus countries that even i know exist but do not ask me to draw them on a map..

Alarm bells or sirens should have been going off when Ms Bolkovac describes her fellow americans who applied for policing duties***, she appears to have been the only one who was there with the requirements with a then 71 year old southern gentleman makes you wonder if the money meant more than the job.  That is the too bright for her own good problem.

Once there the fun begins and it would have been nice to have names to these people who began not to like Ms B in the beginning of the book as it seems once your in the un you never can do wrong even if it is sexual abuse.  Whether the un hates women or that the people are plain backward is an interesting point.  Whether you deem the un trustworthy, or its suppliers seems to be an issue that there good is better than the reason they are supposed to be in an location.
