The mainstream comic producers not only having become major childrens cinema blockbuster fodder recently rebooted its comics after all there’s only so much life in the super hero story, and unless your a 90 year old comic collector means many wont know it as its there first time.
Western mainstream comics having been censored have a problem that doing anything new or adult brings protest from the most unusual places where even i was surprised by, a sort of chorus of disapproval and keep it for the under 10′s please.
There are edgy adult comics in the west, just don’t expect the americans to publish them in print, not that ive bought any comics in the last five years.
While touching wonder womans panties (see image) does not bother (aka page 3) me it does point to a larger problem that perhaps the american comic is somehow doomed never to innovate say in the way the japanese can in manga,or the independent can in the west.
So are dc comics stuck to producing kiddy comics, i’d say yes after geting into bed with film producers. Sort of an evolutionary dead end, Western comics and the values associated with them are very conflicted.
