“I’m sorry sir but you can never use your airmiles.”

Is what somebody at British Airways said to a flyer with a large amount of marketing things called airmiles wishing to upgrade from British Airways  Thus airmiles are useless according to British Airways.

When you hear this from the people who where told it – you wonder why people even bother to fly on say British Airways after all if no benefit can be obtained from the scheme then the scheme itself is not working or perhaps it works too well.

So next time some airline executive complains ‘people do use their airmiles’ or says ‘we’d be bankrupted next tuesday for 50 years if people used airmiles rather than paid money’ remember you can’t use them because ba plc don’t allow you to.

That is the problem with loyalty schemes and when more people discover that then things might change.
