Stiff, Mary Roach

hagensisbn: 9780141007458 is an author i have read before (my blog) and deals with the question of what happens to dead people. Hagens (my blog)  gets a mention although being an educational stiff means your going to sliced and diced in the aid of learning.

With billions of humans to deal with do they make good compost, and after extracting organs and possibly blood what happens to the remainder.  disposal of toxic metals* via cremation is an issue.    Head transplants and the process of death are explored and beginnings of aircraft disaster forensics are charted from the 1950’s.

An informative book if a bit creepy but without the dead body we would not have medical science or safe cars so there is a enlightened side to this.
