BBC pretending to be netflix inconsistently

So since the bcc do not really do genre or look down upon* it i thought this is a slippery slope for the radio player.

Why ? It is interesting to note that digital audio broadcasts do not require a login and password.  Should not all televisions be required to have an email address to access the bbc as well ?

I think that the bbc’s remit is getting weaker and weaker for those of us in the uk.

If you live outside it and think all bbc stuff is brilliant or like sjw doctor who then good for you.  However even the oldest sell-able series** may hit a point where the liker’s of it may wither and make it need of a holiday or your provider stops buying it for lack interest .

Have you not forgotten about top gear (my blog)  that was once bbc

Copying netflix might a form of flattery but i see this as non innovation.  I bet all those user details will be leaked at some point.

*multi million pound classic book dramas are the thing at the bbc ** not all bbc content is ‘exportable’

cosmic raygunned ? – usb memory card or shit samsung software

No drm on the old tv sets

No drm on the old tv sets

I have had a usb memory card recording tv (not much of it) for a couple of months until one day it bacame unreadable.

I lost films such as

the wicker man (1970’s)
the tale of orincess kaguala

Exploration of the device in linux proved no device or files so i had to format it, and the tv then drm’ed it as well

So much for Samsung tv’s (my blog) but it did not explode (non samsumg usb stick) .

Months later It’s format is well strange as it crashed while recording, but it decided to switch channels and replace that with the content on the tv but it kept the same name from the file before the crash.

This drm is damm odd – but it has yet to explode

And .. it happened agsin

fdisk  /dev/sdb1

Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.29).
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.

fdisk: cannot open /dev/sdb1: No such file or directory
linux0:/home/bananas# fdisk  /dev/sdb

Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.29).
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.

Device /dev/sdb already contains a ext4 signature.
The signature will be removed by a write command.

Device does not contain a recognized partition table.
Created a new DOS disklabel with disk identifier 0x4c34f22f.

Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered.
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
Syncing disks.

And then the device is working again.

Lets go blame Samsung.  The ext4  is something samsung record format as i formatted it as a dos disk format on initial format back on its second format.

mod_defensible in Debian stetch

I have reported that it does not log.(my blog) although i thought it was working.

I noticed

LogLevel alert

added to the bottom of apache.conf rather than warn  – I never changed the apache config during the upgrade as apache2 came out of the experience pretty much working apart from defenisble.

Commenting it  meant the value of warn set way up in the file worked after a restart of the process.  So it still works and now logs.

intolerant spf – good

Carol Beer little britain says computer said no

Carol Beer little britain says computer said no

I had a domain with ‘lazy’ spf, which was not up the standards of other zoo domain names. Specifying some extra parameters seems to have sorted the issue which was ok and then was not very recently.  I still like dmarc (my blog).

Time passing agrees that the email servers like the extra parameters.

dirty looks on the high street

In Camdem (near the zoo) a building has become a new childrens nursery after being converted from catering use and the last six months plus there where builders doing things to make it habitable. It is overdue opening by a year plus on my estimates and most is not the builders fault – old buildings do suffer and once you start doing things other things crop up.   It is sort of now open and when i leave the zoo and get the monkey houses bush telegraph i notice once again how female the high street is (my blog) with nails, hair and the charity shops

Apart from missing machine gun towers the new establishment has been secured like a prison and also has staff who love odd signs like this.

Even i am getting ‘stranger’ looks from the staff and its clients as they despatch there darlings for twelve plus hours of toddler community service or whatever the buzzword is for little peoples prison while they go do something else with Vanessa George (my blog) in charge of the asbo milk drinkers.

Vanessa George, Plymouth a professional child rapist

Vanessa George, Plymouth a professional child rapist and nursery employee which got bbc cin charity money

I think the high street is doomed if these attitudes continue but that is what do I in the mornings and have been doing longer than these new special people.

Its location although central seems at odds with the notion of quiet and clean ‘air’ you may or may associate with children’s facilities.

At least it is not another charity shop (my blog).

Toxic environments for retail seem a thing.

Refurbished ‘ethical’ phones

Bananas uses an isp for mobile phone sim access* and for nearly £400 they are offering ‘refurbished ‘ ethical phones which is no discount on the ‘new’ version.

When one can buy a non ethical andriod phone for £80 I cannot see how this is any kind of bargain.  Perhaps if you buy ethical products then perhaps £380 sounds a great deal.

Somebody will be happy I am sure of that. at that price. Not us.

*cheaper than a phone company

Not fixing cars with google

I am not a mechanic but google is an interesting way to diagnose problems being a non mechanic when its battery/fuses/immobiliser mean yes it is an electrical fault something and our attempts to diagnose it where a failure.

So an human expert was sought, youtube is an interesting place although some solutions seem per year model and i guess wont work on a older or newer versions

On refection It appears that our battery charger does not work, and the battery was the fault from a second opinion despite having enough voltage to switch on most electrics.

The cars guide book was also vague when it was consulted on what it could be so nobody came out a winner being not a ‘please insert the forth wheel’ obvious fault…

A car that cannot start but powers up instruments is almost a paradox, and it appears one issue more will be seen of by many.
